Medical Genomics Center (MGC)
Research Topic
MGC is responsible for developing and clinically applying genomic medicine at NCGM, advancing genomic medicine through both research and clinical care. In research, we identify disease-causing gene variants for targeted diseases, conduct scientific validation, and build a knowledge base useful for genomic medicine. In clinical practice, through the Department of Genomic Medicine at the Center Hospital, MGC collaborates with specialized departments to contribute to the advancement of practical medicine. It also supports patients by operating websites—MGenAid (https://mgenaid.jihs.go.jp/), MGenConsult (https://mgenconsult.jihs.go.jp/), and MGen-J (https://mgen-j.jihs.go.jp/)—to assist individuals facing uncertainties about accessing this new form of medical care.
